Invitation from ISMH President and WCMH 2010 Presidents
To everyone in the world who is interested in men's
health,
We would like to invite you to participate in the 2010 World Congress on Men's
Health on October 28 - 30, 2010 in Nice, France. This meeting is organized by
our International Society of Men's Health www.ismh.org.
The reason for our great interest in men's health is the overwhelming irrefutable evidence from many scientific studies of the significant disparity in gender health. All over the world, men live shorter than women and suffer more from heart disease and cancer. Health risk factors are more common among men including smoking, alcohol abuse and overweight. In addition, men utilize preventive health services less frequently. This disparity is even more pronounced in populations of low socioeconomic status. Highlighting such disparities were reflected in the title of our 2009 WCMH "Why men die earlier and suffer more".
Our mission is to advocate and promote men's health and empower men all over the world to pursue healthier lives. The title of our 2010 WCMH "Men's Health: How to overcome the challenges" truly reflects the turning of attention from the problem to the solutions. The 2010 WCMH promises to be the one-stop for the comprehensive multi-disciplinary scientific exchange on men's health solutions in urology, cardiology, endocrinology, oncology, sexual medicine, mental health, primary care, public health, education, aging and beyond. It will be the great educational opportunity, that nobody interested in men's health, could afford to miss.
The International Society of Men's Health (ISMH) www.ismh.org is the only international organization dedicated to the unmet need of improving men's health of all ages. As part of its commitment to a comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach to men's health, the ISMH is establishing an international multi-disciplinary scientific board of key opinion leaders to lead the program development of our 2010 World Congress on Men's Health. CME credits will be offered with details to come.
We would like to urge you to be an ambassador for the cause of men's health. Your
advocacy would resonate to promote men's health. Your enthusiastic advocacy of
men's health and the empowerment of men to take good care of themselves, could
inspire millions of men all over the world to improve their health. This would
be a great opportunity to serve a noble cause of global dimension and unmet
need.
Once again, we are looking forward to your active participation in our 2010
World Congress on Men's Health on October
28 - 30, 2010 in Nice, France.
Most respectfully,

Ridwan Shabsigh
President WCMH
